Here's another ActiveRain discovery I made today. I saw a reference that a person that I subscribe to learned alot about a particular topic from so-and-so. So I went to their blog and was looking for articles on that topic. Hmmm... On my own blog page, I can pull up articles by the "tags" list... but I didn't see that on any other peoples pages. Anyway, long story short, I did some URL digging around and discovered something I think is very cool. If you append /tags to the person's AR blog address and press enter it takes you to their "tag cloud". A Tag Cloud is this - all the tags are shown and the words are sized relatively according to how much they get used. Bigger the word, the more the person uses that tag.
I've only been blogging on AR for just over a month, so I have a baby tag cloud. But you might find it interesting all the same. You can see my tag cloud here
When you write an article, you are asked to create a tags list. I think of the tags as the same as if I were creating an index on a book. What words describe my article and would they make a good category to group my articles together by.
I mentioned before if you subscribe to my blog, you will be fair game for me as I look for information to illustrate a point or feature somebody. This time let's look at Alan May's tag cloud... He'll have a lot more tags to illustrate my point
I'll write more articles in the future for smart tagging and strategizing on your tags. But for now, have fun checking out some tag clouds!
