The Crafts Fair at Lyndhurst – Tarrytown NY – is a classic Westchester event
that occurs twice a year – in the spring and again just after Labor Day. It’s always high on my list of things to do-see in Westchester NY. Top notch artisans from all over come to display their talents in one of the most diverse and unique way. I admit that I was very short on time this year and although I was supposed to go with a friend – work kept me away until the very end of the day. I wandered in and decided that the best that I could was to take a few photos and post just a tiny bit of what was offered. These were not bargain basement offerings – some of the colored blown glass displayed below was priced in the thousands. Suffice it to say – the displays ranged from angel wings for children, to ornate gold jewlery, hand crafted furnishings, paintings, pottery, glass, metal work – you name it. Below are a few photos that I managed to put together so people could get the idea.
The fabulous Blown Glass - was Gabriel Glass - which can probably be found on the web.
The pottery with the imaginative shirts - as wine holders - were by Roxie's studio in MA 413-625-2253. Roxie was there and told me her inspiration for the shirt & tie motif was a piece of pottery that collapsed and looked like a rumpled shirt. Proof that for the truly artistic - there are no mistakes - just inspiration!
The other artisans - I apoligize for not having your information. Please feel free to post it in comments and I will add it to the text if happen to see this post!
