September 30th is a Thursday - What are you doing at 5:30pm that day? Maybe you're just returning from work or about to start supper. I'd like to suggest something else. Come to Choate Park or specifically come to the property abutting Choate Park in Medway, called the Thayer House. If you enter Choate Park in Medway from Mechanic Street, you drive right by the Thayer House parking lot. As I've mentioned before, the Thayer Homestead is owned by the town. Thayer house will be opened to the public for a tour September 30th from 5:30 to 6:30 with a 7pm meeting to follow about the use of the property. The 7pm meeting will be held at the Senior Center in Medway off of Oakland Street.
Why should you delay supper or miss the evening news? Well because we want your input on how the property should be used. One recommendation is to rehab the home and add a small addition that would have the view of the pond but keep the open land area as-is for town functions but also to rent out to the public. Maybe your daughter will be married under a tent overlooking the pond some summer day in the future.
