Victoria has many real estate companies to choose from.
I chose to work at Pemberton Holmes because their philosophy, "Clients first and foremost" aligns best with my own.
Pemberton Holmes is one of the original local, family-owned businesses operating in Victoria today. The company was founded by Joseph Despard Holmes, a man instrumental in the development of our beautiful city in the late 1800s - and it is run today by his great, great grandson (and my boss!) Michael Holmes.
As a surveyor and engineer, Joseph Pemberton was hired by the Hudson's Bay Company to help develop the area. Some 30 years later he left the Hudson's Bay Company and offered his vast knowledge of the Island to the general public, establishing a mortgage and property rental business at the corner of Fort and Broad streets in 1887. His vision was not to found a "rustling office" but a company that conducted business on "quiet and strict commercial principles."
Solid business principles and placing client interests above all else have been passed down from generation to generation, and are not only embraced by the Holmes family, but by the extended family of more than 200 realtors, property managers and insurance specialists that make up the Pemberton Holmes company.
I'm proud to work in connection with such a rich history and strong heritage in Victoria.
