TAKE THE BULL BY THE HORNS - BUY AMERICAN MADE PRODUCTS - ONLY !!!

The consumer has much more power than we realize!  America can wait for the Democrats and Republicans to come up with a plan to save the economy (may be waiting forever), or we can take matters into our own hands!

Whirlpool, located in the city of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, just announced they will be moving the factory to Mexico and 700 American workers will lose their jobs.  They had to keep the company open about 6 months longer than they had expected due to a client demanding product that was produced in the USA.

When ever you purchase a new wash machine, vehicle, TV, computer, clothing, food etc, demand that you see only products that are manufactured n the USA.  If they do not have any, ask them to order it.  When a business places an order for a product made in the USA, the company has to hire someone to produce the order.  More orders = more USA jobs.  More USA jobs = more spending money within the USA.  This will have a snowball effect on the economy, in a very positive way!

We may have to sacrifice a bit until the manufacturing jobs come back, but it will be worth it in the long run.

If we can all join forces and start a Revolution, the "MADE IN AMERICA" revolution.

We can't wait any longer for Washington to act, they still offer benefits to corporations who move their jobs OUT of the USA ..........

Sam Walton of Wal-Mart always lived by the slogan "MADE IN AMERICA". To bad the new Wal-Mart forgot about him ...

I think that's a fantastic idea. I remember when I was a kid, there was a period where everyone did something similar to this. When we would go shopping, no matter what we were buying, clothes, food or appliances, my dad would always say, "Check the label." I also remember seeing commercials about "MADE IN THE USA" What a shame we don't do that anymore.

I didn't know Whirlpool was moving to Mexico. And you can't blame the companies completely. The government taxes them so much, it's more economical for them to leave this country. But I agree, this HAS to stop.

I will look at everything I purchase for the MADE IN THE USA label.

Thanks for reminding us how important it is to support companies that support us.

SUPPORT AMERICAN WORKERS - READ THE LABEL BEFORE YOU BUY!!!

I went to Arkansas Tech parent day last Saturday. We wanted to purchase a "Tech" T-Shirt at the local book store. The label said, "Made in Pakistan". Needless to say, we told the attendant we wanted them to order American made products.

I went to my local Wal-Mart this morning to buy some T-shirts, socks, under wear & shoes. I also wanted to look at flat screen TVs.  I am always reading the labels now to find out where the product is produced. The under wear that I looked at was made in Honduras, the shoes a product of Mexico, the Sanyo flat screen TV is made in Moriguchi, Japan.  I did not purchase anything, other than a few groceries, probably shipped in from Mexico. The check out person asked if I found everything I was looking for? I said no, I wanted to purchase products made in the USA, and couldn't find any.

So, I asked around and found that a local factory that produces underwear, Hanesbrand, Inc. They are open Mon-Fri 10:00-5:00 and Sat 9:00-2:00. (479) 754-0148. They are open to the general public and sell direct from the factory for less than I can purchase the Honduras made under wear from Wal-Mart. No do not advertise direct to the public or their buyers would stop ordering from them

Then I went down to the local shoe factory, http://www.munroshoes.com/, they could not sell to me direct or else there buyers would not order from them, but these shoes are made in America.

Long story short, we can buy factory direct from American factories for less than the big retailers are selling foreign made products to the American public.  If American factory's could get enough business, via the internet and local advertising etc, etc, the giant retail stores might be forced to buying everything from China, similar to what they are doing now. American workers would have jobs and we would have a strong economy once again.
