Legacy played down in Victoria against rival Southwest Christian today. The game was well played at went back and forth with SW scoring first. Junior forward Allie Franzen scored next, in her first game of the season after missing time from a missions trip in Africa. Southwest added another goal in the first half. Southwest came out strong after half and scored another goal, seemingly putting the game out of reach. A hand ball on the SW goalie was called after a save out of the box. Senior Callie Ryan quickly set the ball down and wisely put it in the net before SW had a chance to setup. Another foul was called with a minute left and Callie was ready to strike again when the ref blew the whistle to give SW time to set up. Sophomore Emily Kirby posted another 10 or so saves in this game. 3-2 final but the Legacy girls are really starting to gel as a team.
Go Lions!
