St. Paul Parks

I really hate having my picture taken.  not sure why, maybe it is because I always have a funny expression on my face and camera's don't lie.  my husband took this one today in Irvine park, St. Paul, MN.

The park is located in a historic preservation district, the fountain in the center is a salvaged antique, the benches and street lights are replica's of what they had in the 1800's.  This particular area is called the upper landing and was one of the first parts of St. Paul to be settled in the 1840's, even before Minnesota became a state in 1858.

Irvine park is one of the places we enjoy the most in our neighborhood, it is where we meet our neighbors and talk about what is going on in our lives and around the city.  There are many little and big parks all around the city, one of the benefits of urban life, and the neighbors are not so bad either!

Isn't it amazing what a difference parks can make to a community?

I forgot to mention it in my last comment, but... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Teresa!!!

(P.S. - before AR I don't think I'd ever heard of an elderberry or gooseberry... have no idea what they look or taste like.)

I love living in the city.  Growing up in the suburbs, we had to DRIVE to the park.  Now, I have Minehaha park and the trails and Lake Nokomis all at my finger tips. Love it.
