As a member of The Daughters of the British Empire, I wanted to invite our ActiveRain community to attend our 22nd Annual Victorian Tea on October 9th in Denver. Here is more information and phtos from last year's event.
For over twenty years, the Daughters of the British Empire in the state of Colorado have been hosting a Victorian Tea in October as a fundraiser to support the British Home in CA., their primary charity. The group also donates a portion of the funds raised to local charities including Denver Hospice, The Gathering Place, Good Samaritan and Kempe Foundation.
This event is a completely authentic afternoon high tea served by ladies of the British Commonwealth who are experts at the art of serving a proper tea. Don't miss this special, once-a-year event which will take place from 2-4 p.m. on October 9th, at the First Plymouth Congregational Church, 3501 S. Colorado Blvd, (at Hampden), Cherry Hills Village.
In addition to the tea, guests will have an opportunity to shop the Bazaar which will offer a wide variety of jewelry, crafts, teapots, stationary, art, baked goods and other British specialties. A raffle with prizes of over $1,000 will be held at 4:00 pm, and winners need not be present to win. Prizes include 2 tickets to the Denver Center of Performing Arts Directors Society Evening, season tickets for 2 to the Jefferson County Symphony, numerous gift baskets and admission to a variety of museums in the Denver metro area. Raffle tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5 and will be available for purchase at the event or from DBE members.
Entertainment this year will include a bagpiper as well as Celtic chamber music.
Tickets are $16 in advance or $8 for children under 12. To learn more or to order tickets, go to www.DBEcolorado.org.
