Question: This little article I am writing right now... is it a "blog?" Or is it a "post?" Or is there no difference ?
For some reason... I often see a surprising number of Active Rainers using the word "blog" when the correct word would be "post."
Like many women, if not MOST women... I like to go shopping. And... one of the "funner" things about shopping... is shopping for shoes.
I have fun with my shoes. (I guess at times I am easily amused.) Lots of different styles. For women, shoes serve nowhere near the same purpose as they do for men.
Shoes for men... cover their feet. Keep them dry when they step in puddles.
Shoes for women... are a "fashion accessory." I don't really have a "closet full" of shoes like many women do, but I do have more than my fair share.
First... I buy my "shoes" and then I take them home and then I put them in my "closet."
Now... for the point of this post. It's about the confusion with the words post and blog.
This article that I am writing... as part of this "30 in 30" challenge I am doing... is a "post..." not a blog. Like buying a pair of shoes.
Where do I put this "post" after I write it ? I put it in my "blog." Or, after I write this post... I "submit" it to my blog. Like putting a pair of shoes in my closet.
The post is the shoes. The blog is the closet. Just as I don't buy a closet... I don't write a blog.
Another comparison would be like writing in a diary, or writing in a journal.
Just as we would write an "entry" in our diary, or write an "entry" in our "journal..." we write a post in our blog. Or we post "to" our blog.
You buy shoes, and put them IN your closet. You write posts... and submit them to your blog. Same idea.
