Calling all animal lovers!!! Saturday, September 25 is the 9th Annual Pet Trek fundraiser from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Woodbridge Community Park in Irvine. Grab your walking shoes and your canine companion! Sponsored by Hill's Science Diet and Jack FM, the walkathon features three different routes for varying canine and owner fitness levels, pet related vendors, a silent auction, food booths, demonstrations, contests and prizes for top pledge earners. NEWPORT BEACH
This weekend is the 22nd annual Taste of Newport! This delicious mix of great food, drink, music and fun will attract over 50,000 people to Newport Center Drive at Fashion Island for the party of the year. The three-day food, wine and music festival proudly presented by Wells Fargo and hosted by the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce will be held Friday, September 17th from 6:00pm to 11:00pm, Saturday, September 18th from 4:00pm to 11:00pm, and Sunday, September 19th from Noon to 8:00pm. There will be FREE parking in the designated structures at the Santa Rosa entrance, as well as available valet service. The Taste of Newport serves up culinary masterpieces from nearly 35 of Newport Beach's finest Restaurants, as well as 15 premium wineries from throughout California, ice cold brews and delicious cocktails. The restaurants are truly spectacular, offering everything from barbeque seared ahi and tiramisu to prime rib and crème brulee. Everyone is sure to find something pleasing to the palette-and a new restaurant to try after the Taste. If you purchase tickets in advance you will be offered a discount. General Admission tickets will be $25 at the gate. Children under 8 will be admitted FREE.
