Boise State Broncos… Back to the Smurf Turf

By

Well this week starts another season for the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Champions of 2007 the Boise State Bronco's. Who could possibly forget quite possibly the best bowl game in history on New Years Day 2007 when the underdogs of Boise State Broncos defeated the Oklahoma Sooners in overtime with a 43-42 victory stunner!

Can the Cinderella Story Boise State Bronco’s have another stellar football season? Well the locals here in Boise are willing to take that bet. Ranked 23, Boise State opens their 2007-2008 football season against Weber State this Thursday night 7:00 pm at home here on the famous Blue "Smurf Turf".

What will the season bring? Hopefully another bowl birth!

It was the best bowl game that I've ever seen.  The Cowboys have rookie wide receiver, Jerard Rabb, from Boise State on the team.  Hopefully he makes it.

No doubt they'll make another bowl....I think Boise St.-Hawaii could be an awesome showdown (currently ranked 23-24, respectively)!!! With pretty weak schedules- they both should be significantly higher.

Anywho- it'll be pretty sweet to see last year's REAL national champs play on their famous bue digs.

Linda & Jim... thanks for the Boise State Love... We don't have a pro team so we take our college football really seriously here. Looking for a repeat of sort.

You're in a hotbed of pro football, 800 miles from denver, 650 from San Fran/ Oakland, 500 to Seattle.....so who do most Boisians cheer on?

Jim, A lot of people have migrated here from California so No & So Cal teams are a pretty good bet here. You also have many on the Seahawks and even some for Denver. We did get an AFL2 Team this year the Boise Burn which is a lot of fun to go and watch... Close up action and high scoring games too.

Donna, The Cowboys just cut Jerard Rabb yesterday.  So, no Broncos on the Cowboys this year.

Linda, Ouch! Yes I was afraid of that. Maybe he will bet picked up by someone else.

It was a rare moment for me to watch a bowl game in a house of men/boys who don't like football (Gasp!)

I'm glad I turned that game on when I did.  I didn't see the whole game but I saw the best part, the end.  Way to go Broncos.   (Now there's something I don't normally say as I'm a Chiefs fan.  lol)

Kathy... If at anytime that was the time to watch football. The Chiefs comment was classic.
