Saturday is Old Timer's Day in LaVergne TN. Old Timer's Day will be held at the Veterans Memorial Park on Floyd Mayfield Drive. The festivities kick off at 6am with a country ham breakfast at the Rescue Squad located at 141 Gambill Lane. There will be a parade at 10:30 am. The parade starts at City Hall, going south on Murfreesboro Road to Floyd Mayfield Drive and then down Floyd Mayfield Drive to the Veterans Memorial Park. Around 7:30 pm (when it gets dark) there will be fireworks.
Old Timer's Day is featuring activities for all age groups. In the children's area which is sponsored by the LaVergne Library, there will be storytelling, inflatables, and a duck pond. In the seniors's area, there will be crafts and food. In the demonstrator area, the attendees will see quilters, sewers, and blacksmiths. There will be multiple food vendors and other businesses providing information and products for sale as well.
Old Timer's Day is a fundraiser for the LaVergne Senior Center, LaVergne Police Athletic League, LaVergne Library, and area school and church groups. The entire city of LaVergne is invited. This is the 37th year of the Old Timer's celebration.
