San Diego County median home price for August 2010

The median sales price for homes in San Diego County was $337,000 in August 2010. After reaching a low of $280,000 in February 2009, the median sales price has continued to steadily increase.

Total San Diego County Home Sales, 2008-2010

If your intent is to live in your home, raise your family there, and perhaps even retire there, it's always a great time to buy, but especially so right now with interest rates still at record lows and before home prices increase so far that your dream home is out of reach.

There are some areas where prices are still declining, mostly high-end areas, and there are other areas, such as Mission Valley, where multiple offers and great prices are causing the prices to increase faster than the median.

If you've been sitting on the fence trying to decide whether or not to buy a home, climb on down and give me a call! I can help you find your new home, and if you don't have a lender to work with, I'll help you find a good lender, too! I know several!

Hi Jim, good advice to your Buying market.  It looks as if things have levelled off and the bottom has been reached.  Buyer would be smart to get into the market now before prices start to go up.

And it should continue to rise as more and more higher priced foreclosures enter the market.

Looks like San Diego County has started its recovery.  That's wonderful news to see increasing and stable median sales prices.  2008 looks like the first big drop off a roller coaster.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by and commenting. Comments are greatly appreciated!

I'm trying to follow up on these older posts like this one to see if anyone had any questions or if I really need to respond to anyone's comments.

I will read all the comments and respond to any that need a response, but rather than making comments here in my post to each and every one of you, I'll just let everyone know that I have read all the comments and if there are any questions, I'll answer those in comments below this one. Otherwise I'll simply post this comment and then head over to your blogs soon to visit and do some reading and commenting. I hope you'll have a nice welcome mat out for me!

Don't forget to let your cat come out to play with all the other ActiveRain kitties. Your cat-friendly dogs can come, too! At the end of the 2010, which is the Chinese Year of the Tiger, I'm going to put together a slide show or an eBook of all the ActiveRain kitties. If you see any stray cats roaming around ActiveRain, gather them up and bring them over to our forever home right here! The more the merrier!

Also, if you need a great cat book, get yourself a copy of Peg Silloway's The Cat Lover's Book of Days. It has great pictures and cat trivia, and you can use it year after year since it only has dates but not years.

Best wishes to everyone for a great Fall!

Will - Fortunately, sales continue to rise, too, and those can't be "blamed" on high-end properties.
