Rich - I'm wondering too!  We have a really large Korean community here in Sacramento.  I would really love to attend, but have another event I must attend next weekend. . .Perhaps next year!

Cultural diversity at its best - starts in the kitchen!  With new tastes, textures and aromas ... can new appreciations for the culture be far behind?

Marchel - I haven't had an opportunity to try much Korean food either.  But that which I have had has been good!

Maria - I've been trying to dodge a snack, by staying on the computer while blogging. . .LOL

Jack - So true!  I worked at an international software company for a number of years.  I rubbed elbows with many different cultures.  It was wonderful.  I'd always ask them to tell me what they believed, and what they cooked.  I learned a lot of recipes during that time, and expanded my philosophy on life:-)

Hi Myrl, I must need an expansion to my philosophy on life because I don't partake in all this. I think I might be a bit dull. Darn. LMAO

Myrl, what a timely post! I'm going to invite my mom and stepdad (who is of Korean descent, but born and raised in Hawaii) to this festival since there are here visiting from Hawaii...and will re-blog it myself! :)

William - Your tastes are so much like my dad's were. It's uncanny.  What do you eat anyway?  I think I remember you are from a mid-west state.  It isn't uncommon for folks back there to be a tad timid about trying different foods. . .They can be coaxed sometimes!  One of my son-in-laws is really particular about what he will eat.  I remember it was a big adventure just to get him to try Sword Fish.  He will try a few more things now - but not many:-)  He's also very conservative with his political views.  I think there must be a correlation. . .LOL

Thank you for the re-blog, Leilani.  It's appreciated.  I hope your family enjoys the festival.  Be sure to let us know about it.  I will be able to attend this year, as I have another event I must attend that day.

Hi Myrl,

I've been fortunate to have visited Korea a number of times and have enjoyed the food very much. However, if you get the chance to drink some soju......be very wary!!!  It's similar to the Japanese sake and has a habit of creeping up on you unnoticed, then you fall over!!!!

Steve - We are fortunate enough to have several good Korean restaurants and cafes in the Greater Sacramento area!  I've heard about that drink, I just didn't remember the name of it.  Forewarned is forearmed.  I'll heed your words. . .I fall down enough without it already:-)
