The Beauty Of A Client's Trust

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Coastal Properties BROK.995683208

My handwriting leaves much to be desired. In fact my broker has strongly suggested/forced me to start typing my offers. For some reason people at the title company need to actually read what is written on the paper!

So before meeting with my buyers at their "dream home" I typed the buy/sell agreement less price, deposit, and closing date. After the walk though my client approaches the document on the kitchen table.

Without glancing at the document, he begins initialing each page. WOW there mister 1st time buyer, you just signed a blank contract! He simply looks me in the eye and says "it's okay, I trust you".

There are MANY things wrong in real estate world. The market is tough, the economy uncertain, and let's just say some of our peers are hard to be nice to. But moments like this make the game worth playing. Hope you all have such an encounter this week!

Doug, while I appreciate that most of us have clients that "trust" us, what happened with your client worries me from a legal perspective.  Here's hoping that you filled out the form and had him initial the changes made to it after he had already signed it.  My intention is not to rain on your parade, but there have been many, many lawsuits over agents filling in contracts on their own and after they were signed by clients.  Better to be safe than sorry!  ~ Susan

Good Job.

Trust is something that is earned(and you must have) and not just given.

Whether it is a feeling or actions you got it.

Enjoy the day

Susan--I understand where you are coming from. Trust me we went over everything line by line at the table. Trust is great, but our clients need to understand what they are getting into.

Don--It made my week!

Doug-That is a true sign of trust. Iimagine that came because you did things that fostered that sense of trust. Congrats.
