Littleton Area Getting Eco Friendly Housing Complex
Wood Partners, L.L.C., co-developer of the Glass House in downtown Denver, today unveiled plans for a 280-unit, $47 million, super-energy efficient apartment community adjacent to the Aspen Grove shopping center in Littleton.
This is excellent news for this area because of the minimal amount of apartments that are available in the Littleton suburb. Over vacancy apartment rate there is 3.2 percent which very low compared to Denver's 6.1 percent rate. Most of this is due to the fact that Littleton has a strong opposition to apartment housing but because of the strong employers in the area there is a severe shortage for people wanting to commute to the Highlands Ranch businesses, local hospitals and its proximity to the downtown corridor makes it an excellent choice for the younger crowd.
The property at 7317 South Platte River Parkway is adjacent to the 260,000-square-foot, open-air Aspen Grove Shopping Center, home to more than 50 stores and restaurants. It is within easy walking distance of the light rail stop at Mineral Avenue and Santa Fe Drive. It is about a 20-minute commute by car to downtown and the Denver Tech Center. When Aspen Grove was announced in 2001, plans called for a large office component next to the tony shopping center.
Abundant natural lighting and a special ventilation system add to the property's eco-friendly design. Every unit will feature master bedroom walk-in closets, plank flooring, track lighting, crown molding and upgraded appliances with slab granite found in the kitchens and baths, as well as computer desks.
