This is one of a series titled Today is the start of Restaurant Week here in San Diego with over 180 restaurants participating. One of those that is participating happens to have the best Louisiana Cajun & Creole food in San Diego, so if you haven't been to Mardi Gras or Southern Decadence in a while and have a craving for some good Louisiana food, head on over to Bud's Louisiana Cafe Longtime residents of San Diego will recognize many of the menu items and staff from similar Louisiana restaurants owned by Bud and formerly located downtown and in Little Italy. They have Abita beer imported from Louisiana, and the jalapeno muffins are worth buying an extra dozen to take home with you. I've eaten at Bud's Louisiana Cafe many times and have yet to find a favorite menu item because everything I've tried has been excellent. Sign up for their email alerts and you'll know when alligator is on the menu!

Thanks for the heads up on the best Cajun food. I'll be heading South to CA in a month. Best of luck Jim!
Jim - Cajun food is my second favorite food! Mexican takes #1. I never heard of Bud's but with your recommendation I will have to try it! I always see alligator on the Cajun menus but have always been too chicken to try it. Maybe I'll try it at Buds!
Jim, Cajun food is definitely a favorite of mine, red bens and rice, shrimp etufe, blackened sea bass, cajun prime rib....mmm-mmm! I had a bowl of Shrimp Bisque the other day and it was spicy and delicious and left me wanting more!
Thanks to everyone for stopping by and commenting. Comments are greatly appreciated!
I'm trying to follow up on these older posts like this one to see if anyone had any questions or if I really need to respond to anyone's comments.
I will read all the comments and respond to any that need a response, but rather than making comments here in my post to each and every one of you, I'll just let everyone know that I have read all the comments and if there are any questions, I'll answer those in comments below this one. Otherwise I'll simply post this comment and then head over to your blogs soon to visit and do some reading and commenting. I hope you'll have a nice welcome mat out for me!
Don't forget to let your cat come out to play with all the other ActiveRain kitties. Your cat-friendly dogs can come, too! At the end of the 2010, which is the Chinese Year of the Tiger, I'm going to put together a slide show or an eBook of all the ActiveRain kitties. If you see any stray cats roaming around ActiveRain, gather them up and bring them over to our forever home right here! The more the merrier!
Also, if you need a great cat book, get yourself a copy of Peg Silloway's The Cat Lover's Book of Days. It has great pictures and cat trivia, and you can use it year after year since it only has dates but not years.
Best wishes to everyone for a great Fall!
Hello Jim - It looks and sounds delicious. If I ever need a fix and am in San Diego I'll be sure to check them out!
Hi Jim, that cajun food looks pretty good. I think I'll pass on the alligator though, I just can't eat some meats. I guess I have a preconcieved notion that it would taste funny.
