BPO Companies that do not pay!

Have you been infected?  What say you?

(Need your feedback)

Questions?

·        In the past 12 months, as a Real Estate Professional, has any BPO company refused to pay for  your  services

·        Was the refusal verbally and/or in writing?

·         What kind of reasons was given?  Were they subjective with no basis or objective with some  validity?

·        What recourse did you take if any?

·        Do you know what recourse to take?

BPO: Bread and Better for Realtors

An erosion of home sale transactions during a lost sense of urgency among home shoppers, and high unemployment rates has caused Realtors to make a paradigm shift.   The shift can come in the form of working with BPO companies.  Make no mistake about it; working BPOs can be the bread and butter for a Real Estate professional.

Usually the assignment between the company and the agent is usually accepted as a good faith, professional courtesy and ethical merit. Most of the time, the agent knows very little about the company. As a result, Realtors can sometimes appear to be almost desperate in receiving any type of BPO assignment and the BPO Company is aware of it.   However, Realtors could be positioning themselves for economical hardship and losses.  To prevent this, Realtors should do the following:

1.     Ask specific questions from the BPO Company upfront.

2.     Don't just depend on information from their website.

3.     Be committed to be more informed.

4.     Be determined to do research on the company's payment history (i.e.Activerain.com) and other sources.

5.     Getting more information initially (possibly in writing) prior to acceptance of assignment regarding procedural guidelines and instructions. In some cases, there is very little or no specific information in writing prior to completion of assignment.

6.     Watch out: After completion and assignment is submitted to company, watch out for a free-flowing critique of your work.

Question?  What happens when the BPO Company refuses to pay?

1.     When the company adamantly refuses to pay for services rendered-what do you do?

2.     Why would any BPO company refuse to pay a Realtor for services rendered?

3.     Have you (as a Realtors) experienced completing the BPO work, submitting it to the company and in return the company refuses to pay you?   If this has happened to you, what did you do about it?

Your feedback is appreciated!  I'm waiting to hear from you.

I have had an agent turn down several BPOs because the offered price was too low.  And, they upped the compensation.  We work with reputable companies that have employed our service for over five years.  It pays to have gotten in early and with the better ones.

I have not had a BPO that was not compensated. Fair compensation ranges from $50 for a drive-by to $120 for an interior. If you are not receiving this payment, don't click-on the acceptance. You are not making enough to pay for your effort.

The trick is to do your research before you sign up to do business with the company, there are bad BPO companies who make you almost take them to court to pay and there are those who deposit the check right to your account within 48 hours.  You have a choice!!!!
