Set to be the biggest and best business hub in the Middle East, Business Bay is set to be the financial center of this growing economy.  The project, created by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is currently under construction and will be based on other key financial districts such as Manhattan in New York, and Canary Wharf in London.

The enormous scale of the development includes the dredging of the Dubai Creek an extra 11km towards the coast to create the bay which will be surrounded by freehold commercial and residential towers.  As a free trade zone, Business Bay will provide better infrastructure and a better environment for firms to work in, as well as offering the best of amenities to the people that live there and the people that work there.  While some of the buildings are being constructed by Dubai Properties itself, the majority are being constructed by independent developers of local and international origin.

The project, being developed by Dubai Properties, is set to be completed in 2010 and will be made up of over 230 towers, with many of these already under construction.  The key buildings at the bay are: Bayswater, Burj Al Najoom, Churchill Tower, Executive Tower D, Executive Tower E, Executive Tower J, Executive Tower M, Lotus, One Business Bay and XL Tower; in addition to other various projects and freehold land plots.

With a superb location between the Burj Dubai Downtown development and Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC), Business Bay is yet another project to be located in new Dubai next to the main stretch of Sheikh Zayed Road.  With so many high-rise buildings already in the area, the vastness of the Business Bay should fit in well with the current surroundings, as well as adding landscaped gardens, restaurants and cafes to an already first class financial district.
