I found this article to be incredibly refreshing.  With all of the "bad" news we are hearing daily about the real estate market, I think we sometimes forget or overlook all of the incredible opportunities in the market right now.  While it may not be a good time to sell a home, it is an EXCELLENT time to purchase real estate.  Some of the positive points this article makes is more affordable home prices, low interest rates, a large inventory from which to choose and the expectation of eventual appreciation for the investment.  So, who can take advantage of this opportunity?

First Time Buyers can definitely benefit.  There are many buyers in the market now who have not previously purchased a home because it was simply financially out of reach.  However, the significant decline in real estate values in the Northeast Metro Atlanta area has made purchasing a home more affordable than anytime I can remember.  Additionally, interest rates are INCREDIBLY low, which also increases the affordability of buying a home.  Many buyers are intimidated by the idea of purchasing a home and often allow fear of the unknown to keep them from calling a professional lender or agent to see what options they may have.  Don't be one of those people!  You could miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime.  Getting prequalified is as simple as making a phone call.  It often takes less than 30 minutes.  Even if you find out you do not currently qualify for a home loan, a good loan officer will tell you exactly what you need to do in order to qualify in the future.  So, worst case scenario, you have a plan to start working towards homeownership.  If you don't know who to call, get in touch with a professional Real Estate Agent or Broker and ask for a recommendation. 

If you are not a First Time Buyer, don't worry!  You, too, can benefit from the tremendous buying opportunities in the real estate market.  Many people have thought about purchasing investment properties at one time or another.  Well, I have never seen a better time than NOW to do just that!  Many of my clients who are everyday people and were never professional investors, are purchasing investment properties and making very attractive profits as a result.  You can too!  Again, the first step will be to get in touch with a professional agent/broker and/or loan officer to get started.
