I had a fellow not too long ago contact me about properties in my area 500,000-750,000 dollar range, he was offering a CASH BUY and said that he would be in the states in 3 months. I worked hours and hours trying to get him set up with the right property to his very vague specifications. My whole contact with this fellow was very odd from the get-go, I wrote it off as his English was not so good and continued working with him until a very suspicious E-Mail scam was sent around my office was very similar (Same Scam Different Name)! Something about that seemed strange. So I had my web tech look up information on the fellow and it turns out he was a musician or at least using ones name, apparently the schemers used this name so if you google it you get what appears to be a very well off individual.
But further research into this matter arose a new suprise! I found the very same fellow I was dealing with and my office had problems with on this same webpage describing the scam! Don't take these deals too far they write false bank slips, etc... etc... LINK
If you or someone you know is dealing with a lead from Zillow, Trulia, Etc. That has some similar criteria to this.
1. Offering a CASH BUY! (They will put cash buy in ALL CAPS.)
2. Overseas (Usually), will attempt to purchase sight unseen!
3. Very Vague when contacting.
4. Looking for higher priced real estate. (500,000-750,000)
It may be something to look into.. Now I'm not saying everybody that falls into those 4 categories is a scam, but if you check out the LINK, It will give you more information on the variations of this particular scam.
I hope this blog will save some others from wasting their time with these schemers!
