Mighty House: The latest kid craze in Red Feather Lakes

By
Real Estate Agent with United Country Ponderosa Realty, Red Feather Lakes, Colorado

My grandson does not miss anything and doesn't forget anything either.

He wrote down the 800-number so that I could order his special Star Wars Set of Mighty Beanz. He quizzed me afterward to be sure that I had in fact ordered them and he knew exactly which ones should be arriving.

He's been keeping track of the weeks as they tick away...4 to 6 weeks is a long wait!

Now, you can buy these things in the stores, but this is a special set "Available only by this special TV offer" - no fudging.  He knows.

When I called the 800 number, I was stuck in an endless conversation with a computer on the other end of the line.  This wasn't fun and had it not been for my grandson's high expectations I would have hung up and not completed the order.

It's amazing how children drive a market.  I remember praying I would get to the store in time to purchase a Cabbage Patch Doll or a Tickle me Elmo before they were all sold-out.

We go to great lengths not to disappoint our kids if we can help it.

It's incredible how persuasive the little tykes can be.

I have a new listing in the Village to sell, and a new marketing campaign during the Saturday morning cartoons!

Mighty Cabin - Red Feather Lakes, CO

MIGHTY CABIN, be the first in your neighborhood to get one.....fishing, hiking, fun with Dad, roast marshmallows, collect rocks, Ice Cream Parlor in town, complete with T.V.....fun for the whole family...

not available in stores......

~

I can just hear it now, "Daddy, I want that Mighty Cabin on Blue Jay Lane, you know the one within walking distance of the Village Ice Cream Parlor and the Lakes?   Here's their number Dad, you've just got to call Mary Douglas (800-531-2195) ... PUH- LEEZE Daddy,  PUH- LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE?????"

You know, you're going to love this little cabin and love taking those little tykes fishing....what are waiting for? Call me.

When I order something for my grandsons on Amazon they're staring over my shoulder until it's confirmed, then after 2 days asking if it came in the mail every day until it arrives. I assume we couldn't buy your listing on Amazon :)

Hi Sharon, I've often wondered how they "learn" to be so persuavive and persistent - I think you're right, they are just born with those abilities!

Hi Ann, Thanks, is Zachary still too young for cartoons?

Hi Mary -- My son who collects baseball cards, knows if one is missing out of a kazillion, it's amazing how their little minds work and he can be very persuasive when he wants something.  He is definitely learning the art of persuasion as well as determination. :)

Hi Chris, I believe that!  It's amazing how they keep track of those things isn't it?  I know a man who sells baseball cards on line - the valuable ones.  Your son may be starting to save for his retirement with those things!

Craig, you would be the first person I'd call!  Thank you so much for the offer.

Sheldon, those are fabulous ideas !   Maybe free pony rides at the open house too... AND a miniture version of Mighty Houses in cereal boxes .....

Love the Open House and Toys-r-Us ---thank you! thank you!

The more amazing thing is how well kids remember these things! Good thing they will only take orders from someone over 18! Imagine how many have actually called themselves to get what they want! I think this was probably one of the reasons my brother and I were limited to only one hour of TV per day. Wow, to look back, my mom and dad were pretty smart! (and saved themselves A TON of money!)

You have such a great way of telling a story, I could put myself in your grandson's shoe, waiting for the item to arrive.

Hi Stephanie, you're right about that!  I think limiting the amount of TV ( or at least TV commercials) was a very smart move on your parents part, it probably did save them a ton of money !! LOL

Thanks V.B. -I'm glad you liked it :-)  Does Sherry want one?...kidding

Hi Jennifer, thank you.  He's been pretty patient but the anticipation is mounting!
