Mount St. Helens
Thanks to the eruption of historic Mount St. Helens the Southwest Washington region is one of Washington State most visited areas. I just mainly want to share with you guys some great views and images of the Volcano, from different angles and times of year and also the amazing work of nature, how in the last two decades slowly but nicely the area is trying to retake its normal shape.
Since, the whole world knows it, lets skip the historic of how all started, like that the mount exploded on may 18 at 8:32 a.m. sending estimated 520 million tons of ash more than 15 miles into the atmosphere and eastward across the United States. That the mount stood 9,677 feet tall before the explosion, after the explosion there was only 8,363 feet remaining and that the explosion destroyed 4 billion board feet of timber enough to build 300,000 two bedroom homes. I hope you all enjoy the pictures. For more information and images of Mount St. Helens visit www.mountsthelens.com
