Can you

Vyoo.itPostlets has a new offshoot that I'm trying to figure out how to use to its maximum potential. lets you set up your own smartphone optimized web address for a property.

You can use it alone or with Postlets. If you already have a Postlet done for the home in question, you just provide with the direct link to that home and voila! Done & done.

One thing I really like about it is that if the visitor is on a smartphone, they are directed to the mobile optimized site. If they are on a desktop/laptop they get sent to the original Postlet.

QR Code for site 302 Red Oak Dr. ChattanoogaSo here's the question. How do you get the site out there in such a way that it's adding value & reaching your intended audience? Do you publicize the site in your print advertising? Or possibly include it as part of your signage on the home? Putting it on a flyer seems a little useless since, well, if they have a flyer, they already have all the info that you're trying to put out there into the collective conscious, now don't they?

And now here's my idea, tell me if I'm a crazed lunatic. I'm going to laminate a sheet that says "For more information about this home, direct to your smartphone, visit" along with a QR code that sends them to the site that I've created. That laminated sheet gets attached to the sign. Sort of a high tech alternative to the typical flyer in the box.

Creative use of technology or ridiculous attempt to be bleeding edge? You decide and let me know.

Interesting, I will have to check it out. Postlets has had issues when syndicating to Oodle and Backpage and leaving essential brokerage information out, so will have to learn more. Thank you for the post!

I should have specified, you can set it up directly in and give it an alternate address to direct computer users to (like an MLS listing). I have some issues with Postlets myself but it's hard to beat when they make it this easy...

I've been experimenting with QR codes, and couldn't figure out how to put the codes on our rental signs w/o a lot of expense. Let us know how the laminated sheet works out.

Still trying to figure out the best way to do this, so I'll post back with I get the kinks worked out.

@Renee - if you have a smartphone search for an ap using QR as the keyword. I downloaded ScanLife for Blackberry a couple of days ago - until then I was pretty clueless. Once you've used it, it's dead easy.
