For all of us lifetime residents of the Pacific Northwest, Living anywere from Seattle to just North of the British Columbia border and everywhere inbetween, we USED to tease and like everyone to think that it rained CONSTANTLY in the Northwest.
My first year in Real Estate I would recieve calls from Californians, Floridians and Arizonians and EVERY one of them asked me the same question.... HOW MUCH DOES IT RAIN~!
Well, truth be known Seattle averages 38.6 inches of rain per year. Precipitation in the mountains is even higher. Annual precipitation in the Cascades usually exceeds 100 inches or more. In fact, several of the world records for total annual snowfall have occurred in the Cascade Mountains. As I sit and write this it is September 22, 2010 and there is a bright blue, sunny sky and about 65 degrees out right now.
I live in the most lush green corner of the World, with skiing about 1.5 hours away and sailing/boating to the SanJuan islands at my fingertips....
DO I CARE that we get our 'portion' of Rain? NOPE~! Wouldn't trade the dry, humid, or mild weather for what I have for anything in the World~!
I truely live in God's Country~!
