Everything You Need to Know About Personal Marketing You Can Learn From Mr. Rogers...

Last weekend, I posted "What is a Personal Brochure and Why Should You Care?" If you missed it, you can read it HERE.

Since then, I've had some interesting discussions with AR members about the necessity of making an emotional connection with your prospects ... and the power of talking heart-to-heart in your most important marketing brochure, your personal brochure.

The power comes from being authentic in an age of inauthentic marketing and sales messages.

Today, I received a link to a YouTube video that is the best example I've ever seen of making an emotional connection with someone you're seeking to persuade.

It's a priceless lesson and well worth the few minutes it takes to watch it.

You'll recognize the person talking. It's none other than Mr. Rogers himself, testifying before the U.S. Senate.

Stay to the end. You won't be disappointed!

Watch Mr. Rogers make the sale...

If the video takes too long to start, click here to watch it at YouTube, where it will start automatically.

Kay thanks for sharing this video I had forgotten how powerful an emotional response Mr. Rogers could elicit. If I could learn to do that at even 10% of him I would be doing well. That has always been my challenge because when I write I tend to leave the emotions out and have to make sure I include them. I do think I have been getting better. Maybe I need to watch more of Mr. Rogers!

Ashley: Yes, even 10% would produce amazing results. People (prospects) respond to authenticity. That hard-nosed senator is living proof of that. You literally can see all of his sales-resistant armor and "tough guy" tactics melt in the face of such authenticity. Did you "get" the headline Mr. Rogers used to grab the senator's attention? It was brilliant. So glad you came back.......Kay

Kate: Hi. Oh, I hope you got some new ones. If you like to see what works in other fields and then apply them to your real estate marketing, you'll love this. Honestly, I've never wanted to be a teacher, but I think I would love to create a little marketing course from that video. Please come again........Kay
