2009 Aerospace Tax Incentives Report Now Online

Boeing Employs 76 Percent of 77,441 Employees, Pays Them the Most

OLYMPIA - Sept. 21, 2010 - Boeing employed 76 percent of more than 77,000 employees working for 221 aerospace firms participating in aerospace tax incentives in 2009, according to an annual report published by the Washington State Department of Revenue.

The Aerospace Tax Incentives Report Summary for Tax Year 2009 also found that 76 percent of Boeing employees earned more than $30 per hour compared to 25 percent for all other participating aerospace firms.

On the other end of the wage scale, less than 1 percent of Boeing employees earned $15 or less per hour, compared to 22 percent for other aerospace firms.

Monthly medical and dental contributions paid by employers varied considerably, with a median medical payment of $308 and a maximum of $1,175.   The median dental contribution by employers was $42 with a maximum of $900 a month.
