Why is the artist community flocking to Highland Park? Because there are cool homes at a reasonable price, close proximity to Downtown and easy access to Hollywood. It's as simple as that. Highland Park CA is quickly becoming the place for the young and hip to hang their hat.
Here are some of my favorite Restaurants and bars in Highland Park CA. EL HUARACHE AZTECA on York Blvd. has KILLER MEXICAN FOOD. ANTIGUA BREAD is an awesome little bakery on Figueroa that serves coffee drinks and pastries. THE YORK on York Blvd. offers a great beer selection and a simple menu (good food) posted on the chalk board. JOHNNY'S BAR on York is cool little getaway to have a couple beers and MR. T'S BOWL is a fun place to hang on Saturday afternoon...highland park artists...see murals...

The Artists moved to Silverlake when it was affordable and look what happened...neighborhoods were transformed...and home prices skyrocketed. The same thing is happening in Echo Park. Before the artists began migrating to this cool little area, nobody would go there...and look what's happened...neighborhoods are improving...and home prices are soaring.
