For the conspiracy fans, here's one to chew on! Wednesday evening, South Park skewered Facebook as the feature of their latest episode, satirizing the entire concept of "friends", pokes and updates! Mix in a little "Tron" and Yahtzee instead of the combat bikes for some hilarity.
So, the day after the episode, Facebook does a faceplant! Did the legion of South Park's fans who are hackers decide that the South Park creators Trey and Matt were right, and take matters into their own hands? Did they decide, Facebook must go??
Or was it just a technical issue?
Draw your own conclusions.... :)
Have a great weekend!
Liz and Bill aka BLiz
Ah, yes, a good old fashioned conspiracy theory. Just what I needed this fine Friday morning!
Thanks for sharing the interesting theory on the Facebook outages. Most of the Facebook members did not even notice. Have a great weekend.
Blooming for home buyers.
Bliz really Facebook just pulled a Kenny. Unexplained death followed by revival on the next episode. Something quite typcial with Facebook these days.
Kenny and the grassy knoll theory. I don't think whoever did it pulled it off alone. "You kids quit screwing around. You kids screw around too much. Okaaayyyyyy?"
Tish, Or perhaps Facebook did it themselves... building more PR for themselves and "teaching" all their subscribers just how bad they need them!
Roy, We must have seen about 5 posts yesterday on the Facebook outage. Just too much of a coincidence to pass up :)
Cindy, They kill Kenny?? :)
Laurie, Be careful....you may get attacked by the Facebook Faithful!!
Andy, LOL! You're channeling...I'd have never suspected!
Liz & Bill - I haven't seen South Park in years, but I did notice facebook was down for a while, which I've never seen before.
Michelle, It's definitely NOT a show for your young 'uns! We happened to flip past just as it started and watched for a change!
South Park is probably a better barometer of society than most talk radio.
Phil, Their turnaround time on the news of the day is pretty amazing. I've seen them do something within a week of it hitting the news!
Could be
I was a little surprised yesterday
first time I can remember
Your Friend in Charlottesville!
Bliz......Now that's what I call some very creative thinking - one just never knows the why of some things.
This is a little too soon after the Ahmadinejad conspiracy theory. I not yet ready to rebut this one.
Liz & Bill, reminds me of the " there was only one bullet" theory. Where was Bill Gates and Steve Jobs at the time?? What is the old saying "Paranoia" is just a hightened sense of awareness??:))))))))))
Endre, We found it particularly amusing that the episode and the outage happened so close together. But then again, the movie about Facebook's creation is coming out too, so maybe there's a Hollywood connection too?
Sometimes it pays to have that extra sense of awareness!
