Motivational Power Quote

I Rather Be Me

"I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are;

because a could be is a maybe who reached for a star.

I'd rather be a has been than a might

have-been has been,

but a has an are."

Milton Berle, American Comedian

As I see it. . . . . . . .

I rather be me

I rather be a person that has tried and not yet succeeded then a person that did not try.

I rather be a person that has been knocked down as a result of my efforts then a person that did not take the risk to succeed.  I can always get up and try again.

I would rather stretch and reach for the stars and come up with just hand full of stars rather then not have stretched, but I can always stretch for another hand full of stars.

I would rather live my life and to continue to reach and try then to listen to other people tell me what I can't do.

Live your life stretching for your goals and reaching for the stars both are there for you if you're willing to reach and try.

I rather be me with a vision and a dream and reach for them until I achieve them.

Out of all the people I could be I rather be me.

Lou, I love this, especially your comment that you'd rather be a person that has tried... I recently read a quote from Micheal Jordan, "I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games.  26 times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed.  I've failed over and over again in my life. And that's why I suceed."

Oh Uncle Milty, I sometimes wonder how many jokes and sayings you stole. Perhaps you got the last laugh after all. Great quote Lou! ( I like Sandy's comment also)

I would noever have thought Uncle Milty was the author of this quote. I  am beginning to think "success" has become a hollow word however. Or perhaps something we don't take the time to define for ourselves.

Lou,

An unusual motivational quote and poem.  Love your comments on the matter.

I would rather stretch and reach for the stars and come up with just hand full of stars rather then not have stretched, but I can always stretch for another hand full of stars.

Really interesting quote, Lou.

"I'd rather be a has been than a might-have-been has been..." It looks like cute poetry on the surface, but that is really an incredibly deep and motivational thought.

reminds me of that saying that you most regret the things you did not do, not what you tried and failed at.
