I once rented a room when I lived in Virginia from an older couple who were from Georgia and the wife was beyond an exceptional cook and I got to eat so many southern comfort foods it was just one of those special times I remember about my life, along with their generosity. I cleaned the home, they fed me, fair trade, and I got the best end of the deal! :) I lived in Charleston, S.C. for 2.5 years and had some friends who grew up in the area and got introduced to many comfort foods.
