Stearns History Museum & Reaserch Center in Saint Cloud Minnesota
Stearns History Museum offers two floors of exhibits, the Research Center, a Museum Store, and a children's playroom. It is also home to multiple local events and club meetings, everything from the book club to the Genealogy Program. The 100 acre Museum grounds are beautiful, with four miles of walking trails, woods, prairie and the ponds of Heritage Park, it is a really nice place to spend the day.
There is always something new going on at Stearns History Museum, new attractions are being added and the Fall Calendar should prove to be a lot of fun for the museum's visitors. The schedule this year includes: Letters from China, a chocolate tour, a Pink Panther exhibit, (the day camp for children in the month of October will be Pink Panther themed), Holloween Historia, the Charles Kapsner exhibit, along with the monthly meetings of the local clubs.
The Research Center and Archives at Stearns History Museum is a very rich source of information and history from the Stearns County area of Minnesota. A wide variety of documents from maps, newspapers, genealogical files (specializing in files from Germany and Luxembourg), oral history tapes and over 500,000 photographs are available for personal and professional research. Students can purchase a research pass for $5 and use the museum's research center at anytime throughout the school year.
A Nationally accredited Museum, The Stearns History Museum offers people the change to examine and understand the lives and the livelyhood of the people of Minnesota. This is the perfect place to come to investigate the past. If you have a great love of history, you might find the Breakfast Club meetings of particular interest, the club gathers at the museum the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 9:00am.
