Last night I attended my old high school football game -- Keller High School. Awesome thing!

I haven't been into loud crowds or wild sport events for many years now. I was a leader of school spirit in my youth and my husband played football -- offense and defense -- when Keller wasn't big enough to have a whole team. Now they have 4 large high schools. The game last night was one Keller team against another Keller team. One where I have as many friends and clients on one set of bleachers as another. Kids on both sides of the field that I know what their rooms look like -- I sold it to them. I felt torn! Can't we just have one big blue and gold school?! A lot has changed.

Somewhere along the way I changed a lot, too. I've opted for other things business (yawn) or art related for years now. If sport related at all, I opted for more individual and quiet vs. arena or stadium style -- wide open spaces sport like scuba or ski vs. spectator or cheerleader or anything crowded sports related as an adult. So I kind of forgot what it felt like to yell and scream and appreciate the energy of a stadium! How could I forget!?! Sooooo nice to be back! Fun FUN FUN! Point is, the game brought back a lot of old fire and really good memories!

Keller High School

How does my Friday night lights experience relate to real estate? In a lot of ways. I could put any spin on this I want. But what came to mind first is some of the emotion that goes with buying and selling a home. It can be as intense as a ball game. At the end of the day, all the consumer wants is to effectively play the game. They want a series of goals met, touchdowns made. They want their pro to effectively coach them and cheer them on. They want a win. They want a great overall experience.

Last night's game was the 3rd annual Play for a Cure game where Keller High School and Keller Central High School played against one another in football, but worked together all week to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research and awareness. The schools raised over $20,000. Keller community, you're pretty in pink.
