Madison Alabama DriversLately, our state has had an increase in the number of traffic fatalities.  In fact, at the beginning of August, Alabama's traffic fatality rate has reached its highest since 1973.  There are continued efforts in Madison County to make our roads safe.

In conjunction with this effort, Madison Alabama's City Council unanimously decided to pass an ordinance which will allow Madison Alabama police to impound vehicles of drivers with no license.

For those that leave their license at home, there will be new techonologies added to police cars to enable them to disguish those individuals from others with a revoked or suspended license.

Madison Alabama DriversThese efforts are being made to reduce the number of unlicensed drivers off the road.  On August 10th, a similar ordinance was passed in Athens, Alabama.  Since the start of the Athens campaign, there have been over 100 impounded vehicles already.

As I have said before, I am in favor of all efforts that seek to make our roads safe.  With our kids returning to school, we need to especially be careful out on the roads as they play, walk, and boards buses.

Be careful as you go to and fro out on the busy highways.  Be sure to have your drivers license with you and remember no license could result in the impound of your vehicle.  Lets all do our part to try to reduce the number of traffic fatalities on our roads.
