Beaufort, SC is an ecletic town, no doubt. We are an arts-rich town, with our own film festival. Although located in hyper-conservative South Carolina, Beaufort has a real liberal streak running through it. Riann Mihylov is a talented photographer based here in Beaufort, SC. She is also ecletic, as evidenced by her photo of a Christmas tree in the surf at Hunting Island State Park, South Carolina's most popular state park. She is a product of the Beaufort County school district, but she managed to turn out okay.
I like the quality of Riann's photographic eye very much. I let her shoot my houses from time to time. She never disappoints.
I haven't had a chance to ask Rian why she put a Christmas tree on a stump on the beach at Hunting Island State Park, but I have no doubts whatsoever she had something interesting in mind.
It could be the color scheme. Look at how the colors of the tree blend with the background of ocean.
I can't say I understand what she is trying to say with this photo, but I will give her credit for originality.
The locale is Hunting Island State Park, the most popular state park in South Carolina. Strewn amidst the surf are stumps from trees which have long been overrun by the Atlantic Ocean, which has been slowly eating away at parts of the park.
