All Those Years Ago

By

It's a Sunday morning; about 7am here in Hawaii. I just got through reading Richard Weisser's post When the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak... and immediately had an inspiring moment to share with all of you.

There are times during our lives while we are  ‘growing up',  that we don't feel that 100% like Richard was talking about. Those times happen more often than not with the physical part of our beings aging wtih creaks and crinkles and our joints not as oiled as they used to be.

He goes on to say, It's strange because on the inside, I still fell like a thirty-something lad full of vigor and stamina.'  I thought long and hard and remembered....

Yesterday morning I looked out of the comforts of my home to see what the sky displayed for the start of a new day. It was a gorgeous morning! With blue sunny skies and ....a moon?  Oh, yes!  A beautiful moon to compliment our gorgeous Pacific skies.

Choosing to look at the positive side of life does not mean we ignore the things that we need to pay attention to. We continuously look at our physical and mental states and make the changes we need to in order to keep growing.....so we don't become stagnant.

Balance is a wonderful achievement in my life. So are the joys of stopping to smell the flowers and looking at the moon and remembering that miracle of watching the television (oh, all those years ago) the first man to walk on the moon.

And all that I know, that I've learned, to get to this point in time, place and space...

That I'm grateful for all those years ago.

Sally,

I love the line "It's strange because on the inside, I still fell like a thirty-something lad full of vigor and stamina."

When I smashed my leg o'so many years ago I went to a VA orthopedic ward. I was the youngest there, the next youngest was twice my age. One day he explained to me that they were all 70 or older and were their because they forgot they weren't 35!

I was 35 and and had forgot I wasn't 21!

As to weak flesh they have pills to solve that problem. 8>)

Truth is I still see myself as 20.

lol Bill...yeah, 'ask your doctor about the purple pill'.  You see all those commercials on tv to try this and that.  We get medical advice right in commercials!

My husband says I'm 'immature' but I sure don't 'feel' it lol

Sally,

I have to agree with Bill I love the line about being younger on the inside;I think that is what keeps our spirits up and keeps us goign! Great insightful blog! i wish I were in Hawaii right now.

Woo Hoo, I't my mind that rejects the aging thing, the body already conceded. Your moon photo is great and it is a Harvest Moon, the brightest moon of the whole year. It was named that because of it's brightness, the farmers of years long ago, were able to continue to bring their harvest through the night because of the light given off by the moon.

Sally I don't know what you are talking about "Those times happen more often than not with the physical part of our beings aging wtih creaks and crinkles and our joints not as oiled as they used to be."

I figure I have at least another 50 years before I start to experience that :)

Sally - your clarity of vision has certainly not been affected by the aging process you described in "the physical part of our beings aging with creaks and crinkles and our joints not as oiled as they used to be"

And just how did you get this picture again?

In case that bad boy doesn't come back around in an orbit low enough for my usual camera skills.
