Tucson Weekly's 2009 Best Greek Food Award |
Fronimo's has actually won the Tucson Weekly Award in 2005 and 2007 as well. This review is from Tucson Weekly for the 2009 award. Check out the link to Tucson Weekly below. Good newspaper for all things local. Walking into Fronimo's is like walking into a café in the Mediterranean. With golden-colored walls, ethnic music and framed photographs of Crete, the atmosphere in Fronimo's is warm and inviting. The menu offers a mix of specials (gyros, moussaka, pastitsio, lamb shank and more) and American fare like hamburgers, tuna melts and grilled cheese. The food is fresh and delicious-including the light and flavorful pita bread. It's the best pita in town. Traditional offerings such as the spanakopita and baklava are moist and perfectly spiced. Items are reasonably priced, and after you order at the counter, you can get your food to-go-but with such a nice environment, you might as well stay and soak up the Mediterranean vibe. http://www.tucsonweekly.com/tucson/best-greek/BestOf?oid=1361028 On a personal basis, I have been going to Fronimo's since 1996. It offers great food, consistently prepared, fresh ingredients and a very good staff. Most have been with Fronimo's for years. I say the food is great with a somewhat educated palate, as I have eaten on more than one occasion in Chicago's famous Greek Town. Check out Fronimo's web site for menus, other awards, etc. ...Fronimos Tucson casual dining at it's best. |
