The Brecksville Community Center (aka...The Rec) is just south of downtown Brecksville and is an exceptional community treasure. I was out tooling around Brecksville this past week, happened to have my camera on a sunny day and decided to snap some photos. Hope you enjoy them. Here is a companion post with some other photos taken this past week of some downtown Brecksville scenes.
I also stopped by the Brecksville City Hall area and snapped a few photos of the baseball diamonds and tennis court areas.
Here are a few photos of the Brecksville Reservation within the Cleveland Metroparks that I also took this past week.
Inside of the rec is basketball court, indoor olympic-sized swimming pool, with huge separate hot tub, saunas, full-line of cardiovascular equipment, spinning machines, free weights, indoor running/walking tracking, game room (pool table, ping pong table, air hockey, foosball, TV), child care center, and a huge community room for hosting various events.
On the grounds of The Community Center is an extensive playground area, segmented by age with just about everything imaginable -- from a very long zip line, to tire swings, to climbing apparatuses, traditional swings, and more. A Kid's Garden is quite a visual delight, complete with butterflies! A full-length and fenced basketball court, and walking trails as well as an outdoor pool (Memorial Day through Labor Day) completes this area. The Brecksville Branch of the Cuyahoga County Library System (which is ranked as one of the top public library systems in the country) is right across the street, also off Community Drive.
Travel further down Community Drive and there are two baseball/softball diamonds used by City recreation team sports, as well as three tennis courts, with lighting for night play.
The outdoor swimming pool is semi-visible on the right hand side.
Enjoy.
