Quebec City - Chateau Frontenac

The Grande Finale of my trip this summer and final stop was the incredibly charming ville of la Belle Provence Quebec, Quebec City.....and a stay at the absolutely enchanting Hotel Frontenac!  The Frenchmen were charming, the food, 'mwah!' and every where you looked - was breath taking!

The Château Frontenac, is one of a series of Chateau style hotels built for the Canadian Pacific Railway company at the end of the 19th and the start  of the 20th century. The railway company sought to encourage luxury tourism and bring wealthy travellers to its trains.  Without a doubt it's one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in~

Liz:  Thanks for sharing.  I am a fellow Canadian that group up in Ontario and living in Los Angeles.  As the years have gone on I have had the desire to vist Quebec City and it is at the top of my list on one of my Canadian journeys.  Thanks for showing such great photo's and getting me excited about it again.  Cheers!

Historic Quebec City is a throwback in time.  Every time I go I make it my mission to find a real creperie as I love crepes.  I've never stayed at the Chateau although I've walked the grounds and photographed it on more than one occasion.

We once stayed at a little Auberge across from it that was 200 years old.  So quaint and charming.  Now you've made me want to dig up my own Quebec City photos lol.

Your photos are terrific!  We were in that exact place this past February;  we absolutely LOVE Quebec City and were there during Carnaval, which was lots of fun.

Liz:  I have been to Quebec City four times, and two of them I stayed at Le Chateau Frontenac.  It truly is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed.  The last time was much too long ago.  It's funny the things you remember, but I can actually PICTURE the harpist who seemed to camp out next to our table during our meal.  To say that dining with harp music nearby was heavenly... would be a gross understatement.

And then... walking the Old City... what an absolutely charming place.  Everywhere I went... all I had to do was try to speak my years-ago college french... and the folks could NOT have been nicer.  What a smile them seeing my efforts at trying to speak French to them... brought to their faces.  Just writing about this... I am sitting here... smiling.  Ahhh... memories.
