Personal Promotion Campaigns ~ Getting Started

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Lake Norman ~ Cornelius NCREC License #285201

I've been contemplating over the last several months beginning an aggressive personal promotion campaign with the goal of elevating my personal "brand".  I have a great franchise,a supportive broker and a team that I feel comfortable and confident with.  I am an agent of nearly 10 years and have been successful by my definition.  However, I am eager to take my career to the next level!

Our market, like many others around the world, has experienced a correction and it seems like there are many more sellers entering the market, which is causing supply to be top heavy.  Opportunities to get in front of these sellers have never been more available, yet it seems like I'm just not getting the calls for listings.  I feel that I am a seasoned agent and don't feel as though I need to be chasing the classifieds and/or knocking on doors.  I want the calls to come to me directly, thus the drive to begin a personal branding blitz!

I've heard many stories and seen many agents put together personal marketing campaigns but I am hoping to use this forum to get advice that will allow me to avoid the senseless spending and to target the most effective ways to get my message out!  This is where you, my ActiveRain friends come in.  I would be grateful for any advice you may have time to offer!  You can contact me via this forum or at zack@paradisebahamas.com.  I'm excited to hear from you!

Zack, I'm in the same place. I'm launching a direct mail campaign to three zip codes starting right away. My first mailout is awating final proof. Each zip is small, about 2000 recipients. So once a month for 12 months I will cycle through the three zips with a nice looking glossy 6x9 post card with a catchy message or featured listing etc.I intend that these 6000 households will be my farm' for the remainder of my career.

This is an effort to expand my territory and to test direct mail results. I hope to boost listings and to attract buyers alike.

When I get low on listings, I go back to my mailing campaign that includes a coupon offering a home valuation. I can't tell you how many times a person has held onto that coupon, even calling me a couple years later. I believe in personal branding. Did you want me to email a copy of my coupon?

Thank you Charles and Carla!  I appreciate your replies.  Carla, I like the idea of a home valuation which gives you an opportunity to meet new prospective sellers.  Please forward a copy of your coupon, I would be interested in having a look.

Cheers!

I've taken the first step and met with a marketing firm, Creative Island Designs.  We had a great 2.5 hour meeting and have decided to concentrate on defining a personal "logo" that will identify and differentiate me and also be consistent on all of my marketing materials, including email signatures, business cards, etc.  Once I have one in mind I'll share it to get some feedback.  Once this image is finalized I can begin looking at different ways to get myself in front of the best markets.  I's still very open to ideas!  Stay tuned!
