Today is HARD. This morning, I got the word that a special friend of mine has lost her battle with cancer. I hate to sound cliche, but she really fought the good fight for several years. She never, ever let it get her down, always had the best attitude, always gracious, always putting others before herself.
My friend started out as "that nice loan lady from XXX Savings Bank"; I met her when I first started working in the real estate business 10 years ago and she would come into the office with her business cards. I came to rely on her incredible, never failing service and she helped me to grow my business because of that service. Buyers loved her. Agents loved her. I loved her. I was lucky - I saw her exactly two weeks ago today and told her everything I felt about her - some of it surprised her, which just goes to show once again, how completely unselfish she was. Even when she was fighting her battle, she never failed to drop into my office and ask me how I was doing! She was funny, kind, gracious, loving, caring and beautiful inside and out. I am going to miss her terribly. There is a hole in many hearts today....but there will be a new, bright and shiny star in the skies tonight, even if we can't see it this night because of the rain. We are all sad to lose her, but happy that we had her for the time that we did.
Don't wait - tell the ones you love how much you love them - and why!
