Thinking spring as a time for buying your first home?

If you're making tentative plans to buy a home when the lease ends in spring or early summer, now is the time to begin serious planning.  According to studies, the average home buyer spends seventeen months in the home buying process.  It’s surprising how time consuming it is to find the right home if you prepare properly.  I’m not suggesting that you spend a year or more touring hundreds of homes, but the foundations of a knowledgeable decision take a while to effect.

I offer a free, no obligation orientation for prospective home buyers.  We cover a lot of ground, financial preparation, market conditions, what to expect regarding paperwork, risks and rewards of buying foreclosure homes, where to get help with a down payment, and a bunch of other stuff.  It takes about an hour, and most folks tell me it was time well-spent.   If you would be interested in spending some time learning about real estate, just call me.   Let’s get together and talk about 2011 and your new home!
