Are You Afraid To Post A Blog? Why? It's Easy....Like Nike Says "Just Do It"!

I hear from so many new/not so new Active Rainers who tell me how nervous they are about posting a blog article. Why? I mean....I get it, it's scary to put your ideas out into the blog-o-sphere....but everyone has started at sometime. And Active Rain is such a friendly environment that you are going to get encouragement, not ridicule. And the Google Juice....holy cow (really....is a holy thing)...can you truly afford not to move your business forward via the Google Juice? I can't!

I started blogging in January of 2009.....and no one much noticed, at first. So....I got a few comments and they were just points back then. What am I saying? Don't worry...no one is going to notice your first blogs anyway.....just kidding. If it really worries you....then start all your blogs with "I'm still pretty new to this" and the meanies, like Alan May.....you really have to watch out for him :)....will leave you alone.

Just kidding again...Alan is a peach, a doll, a mensh!

I'm trying to give you encouragement here....stop thinking! Just write! It gets easier....does this blog post seem "well-thought out" or "clever"? I rest my case. Stop over-thinking, and write. Need some suggestions to get past the hump?

* What did you do today?
* Post a picture for Wordless Wednesday or Silent Sunday
* Ask a question
* Post a listing
* Support the Lakers (ok, ok....your favorite team)

Just start writing! You can always delete it if Alan gets too mean....JUST KIDDING!

Thanks Karen; This is so true - I don't believe that I would be out here like I am if it wasn't for me taking the 30 Day Challenge of blogging and I've learned a lot and there are truly some great blogs out here in AR. Get Wet and join the challenge out here in Active Rain.

Hi Karen,

Boy, glad I didn't miss this post...Were you spying on me last night..;-) I posted my second one last night and then pulled it 2 minutes later...Placed it as draft status..Then made it public again ten minutes later.. Yep, it does make me extremely nervous/anxious to post, maybe its because I'm new (became a Rainmaker less than a week ago) maybe its because I read so much here regarding what should be posted and what should not be posted?? I was going to really get into the hyper local (?) posting, about particular areas to post about and boy...I just saw that get not so great reviews in another post. Point being, over thinking and maybe over reading some stuff here does not help with the nerves... AGAIN, thank you soooo much for talking about this, I felt better after reading it;-))

Don't over think it... .Blogging is easy... Its just better to get into the habit of doing it. Don't over look Blogger.Com... Remember Google owns it and pays attention to it. If you got links going back to your site it is going to be looked upon favorably ! ;-)
