FREE SELF DEFENSE PROGRAM FOR WOMEN ~ THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS.

Every woman should consider what they would do if confronted by someone wishing to do them harm. If you were approached, would you know what to do?

The Woodlands Township offers a free Rape Aggression Defense course taught by Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies.

Only women can participate in the course, ages 16 and up, and girls under 18 need parental consent. The four-day course requires two days of discussion and two days of physical practice, and the next available class will be Oct. 18, 20, 25 and 27 from 7-10 p.m. at The Woodlands Recreation Center at 5310 Research Forest Drive.

Don't wait until it is too late! Sign up now for these FREE classes and bring your daughters, co-workers and friends with you!

Hopefully none of us will ever have to be a situation like this but it is better to be prepared NOW!

Paula - how fantastic is that!? Applause Applause to your County Sheriff's office. I grew up with 6 older brothers and we constantly learned what I now know is self defense but back then was just kids being kids. I was always surprised that my friends didn't know how to get out of holds,etc.

Of course, the real trick is to not get yourself into a situation to begin with. I wrote a blog awhile ago about the book The Gift of Fear which everyone should read (the book not necessarily the blog) Makes a great gift for young women and new Realtors especially!!!!

Paula and Susan,

Thanks for caring about the safety of folks in our industry. A not so well know fact, according to one FBI Statistition, is that "Real Estate is the most dangerous legitimate profession in the United States."

I believe we all should be sharing as much good information on self defense whenever we can and am encouraged that you two also believe this to be profitable to share.

Not sure of the protocol on pointing to another blog in the comments section so if this is not appropriate let me know but I hope sharing good information will be allowed in this one case anyway.
