Toto? Where Are We? We Must Be Under The Rainbow....

The weather here in San Diego over the last week has been crazy! On Monday  was a sweltering 113-116 degrees, depending on who you asked. I can tell you, no matter which it was, it was flippin' HOT! I wasn't sure my 22 year old cat was going to make it!

Today, I recevied an alert in my email that the Weather Service had issued a Red Flag Warning for dry lightning strikes! It has poured sporadically throughout the day, and the thunder and lightning was like I have not heard in quite a while! Lightning was striking at 20 strikes per 15 minutes, but is expected to increase this afternoon and evening. It is still about 85 degrees and quite muggy.

We San Diegan's are spoiled. We are not used to this type of monsoon weather! Where are we? Toto? We must be under the rainbow....

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME! I just took this picture from my backyard. Not sure you can see both of them, but yes, there are 2 beautiful rainbow's! They went entirely across the sky!

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!

Stephanie, I have a good friend that lives in San Diego and I follow her weather but I sure missed those 100 degree temperatures.  Being originally from Kansas I can appreciate your analogy.  My Mother-in-laws name is Dorothy and she was from a small town in Kansas by the way. Years ago they had a small dog that looked like Toto.

This entire summer has been strange weather in San Diego. We had some temperatures that set record lows going back over 100 years! Funny conincidences Marchel!

Stephanie, you have had some extremes lately!     I talked to a friend down there today, and she said rains this time of year is very unusual!   Hope your cat does ok!

I'm glad you're safe - just heard of another person getting hit by lightning.  Now, if you would just send the rain our way, I would really appreciate it, LOL.

Hi Stephanie - Great rainbows! We finally have cooler weather here in Florida after a hot, humid summer. I can finally open the doors and windows :-)

Joan ~ This really has been one crazy week for weather here! The cat is feeling much better, moving around more and not sleeping in the middle of the cool kitchen floor!

Juli ~ The lightning show was pretty phenomenal. We had a bunch more AFTER the rainbow! It went on until around 9. You are more than welcome to have all of it, I will be sure and send it out your way!

John ~ They really were beautiful! Yesterday was extremely humid and warm here. I can't imagine it for an entire summer! Glad it has cooled off for you guys!

Thanks Trace! I am good when it rains at night and I can wake up to a beautiful sunrise and typical San Diego 77 degree weather. I will pass on it during the day....

Yes Stephanie, we all got quite a light show yesterday.

Caught the view of the rainbow from my backyard too in the late of day.

Best Regards
