Hendersonville NC Events for October 1-3, 2010Farm City Day

Farm City Day will be held on Saturday, October 2, at Jackson Park from 10 to 4. This will be a celebration of rural and urban traditions in the community.

This event began in 1955, and was started by the Henderson County Cooperative Extension Service and the Kiwanis International. It highlights the relationships between urban and rural populations and how they co-exist in producing products and services for living. Farming and city displays as well as art and music will be part of this celebration. The weather service forecasts sunny skies for this event so come out and enjoy it.

Also on Saturday, you will find The Summer Jewelry Market. Eighteen local artists will be featured on the corner of Church Street and Third Avenue West. This will be from 9-4. For more information you can call (828)0715.

The Summer Music in Flat Rock celebration will be featuring Peace Out at the Little Rainbow Row's back deck. This is on the corner of Greenville Highway and Blue Ridge Road. It is a free event. Bring a chair and enjoy the food of several different restaurants along Rainbow Row. For more information you can call (828)697-7719.

And don't forget to walk along Historic Hendersonville's Main Street and enjoy the Bears, which are still on display. The Art on Main Street will be joining the Bears for great artwork display along the sidewalks of Main Street both Saturday and Sunday. Check the website for more information about this show.

Open Houses

This week you will find 34 Open Homes for you to inspect. For your convenience, The Times News has created a map so that you can find them easily. Be sure you check dates and times. Although most are on Sunday afternoon from 2-4, some have varying times. And some will be held on Saturday.

With the weather cooperating this should be a fun filled weekend!
