In a few words, go see THE SOCIAL NETWORK, just go see it!
Ok. My son Henry Roosevelt is on screen for the first time (if you don't blink and know he will be in the rowing scene saying "they're fast" and in the scene with the Winklevoss twins eating a hamburger, and he is listed I the credits at the end as "Henry" right above Armie Hammer) .
BUT, truly this is an amazing David Fincher movie with sparkling screenplay by Aaron Sorkin and the story is one to ponder.
Mark Zuckerberg's founding of Facebook as presented, is a multi-billion dollar tragedy. Nerdy college genius gets dumped by girl and gets revenge creating what most Active Rainers do daily - FACEBOOK.
In the process to proving himself "worthy,'" Zuckerberg dumps friends and callously hurts others, as he warp-speeds his way not only to heights of materialistic glory (which concerns him little) but to stand head to toe with the likes of Einstein or who knows else.
As so many of the glowing reviews note, as well as Facebook founders, the Facebook revolution is one that no one truly understands. It will make you think twice about how you use social media.
P.S. What kind of a mother would I be if I didn't plug my own son's talents (thank you GWU and crew) and he has many. Check out and support the makig of his movie PiNCH - His penname is Charlie Flippet so the other shorts he's done are on Youtube wtih that name. Henry works in NYC in film on both sides of the camera
