DO_WE_TAKE_THE_WEEKEND_OFF?

By

As we see the families prepare to celebrate Labor Day... do we pursue this weekend as a holiday weekend, or as a long working weekend? In my market, Cleveland, Ohio... it is supposed to be beautiful this weekend so do I go and double up on Open Houses? Maybe hit a couple of the multitudeof community events wearing my "trade show shirt", and my best game face? You know, it seems that we always go above and beyond for our clients, at least in theory, so is this the kind of weekend that we go and promote the most valuable asset.. ourselves? Doing meet and greats and FSBO's and garage sales, local picnics and parks, do we even consider listings...

Or, do I/we take time to re-charge the batteries, sleep in (til 8...lol), cut the lawn, pitch the ball to the kids and hope that this wasn't the weekend that the stars would align, and that we would finally be at the right place, at the right time, and get, and work with the truly qualified buyer that we so need right now. It is not like we turn it off, and that we don't think about it.. even if we do family oriented stuff... it is still on our minds... right?  That is along with our phones being "stapled" to our hips... any thoughts?

Don't waste your time on Holiday Open Houses - I say take the time off to recharge and not worry about Real Estate, just for this weekend.  I bet you will get more out of doing this than having an OPEN HOUSE, besides it's LABOR day, isn't that when we are NOT supposed to work?

Take the weekend off, you deserve it!  This is a great time to take a few days off.  Most consumers won't be thinking about real estate.  The time you take to re-charge will pay big dividends.

Timothy,  I plan to do 3-4 opens this weekend.  Hopefully with lots of people here on Fort Myers Beach I can get in the path of opportunity !  Have a great weekend whatever your plans.

Why miss an opportunity to network? There is nothing special about this weekend. Many people HAVE to work (police, hospitals, gas stations, wawa's :^) ... etc..

..so why would you chill THIS weekend as opposed to LAST weekend or NEXT weekend?

I think this is a great time to meet people. Picnics, garage sales, parades, etc...

I'm taking Monday off to spend with my family but the rest of the weekend...I'm working!  In fact, I'll be doing floor time on Sunday and I'm hoping to catch a few walk-ins as our office is close to the beach.

I was going to do an open house this weekend, but too much of my family is coming to town! I am taking this weekend off!  I work 7 days a week usually, I need some time off!

I guess it depends on where your listings are placed locally - tourist area or suburb. As for me, my Voicemail will tell people when I shall return calls - and it will be off. All current prospects and clients will be called today so questions answered. See y'all Tuesday!

I never had luck with Open Houses on holiday weekends.  This is a great weekend to get together with friends and family and build relationships.  Isn't that what real estate is all about anyway...networking.  Enjoy the weekend and meet some great prospects!!!   Good Luck!
