This past year I sold a condo 3601 Clarks Lane Baltimore, Maryland 21215 The Imperial Condo #422 for a gentleman, in his nineties. He was the original owner, loved his home and was now moving to assisted living.
With no need for the furniture, we decided to include it all along with a rock bottom price.
The special buyers saw the value in the building and knew they were making a deal! This couple made it easy for the seller. Just leave everything and what we don't want, we will donate etc. This can be a big help not having to clear out a home of 40 some years. Sure you can advertise the goods, put it on Craig's List etc.. but sometimes it is not worth the time or inconvenience.
It was a sweet deal for everyone... kind buyers who gave the generous seller plenty of time to move, even after the settlement date.
This past montH, while showing another listing in the building, I was fortunate to run into the buyer. It was like old home week. He enthusiastically invited me up to see what changes were done. So glad I took the time.

A wall was removed between the dining room and kitchen....really opening up the space by using modern cabinets,granite counters and island! A second door into the kitchen was covered with the over sized refrigerator. The carpeting was removed revealing the gleaming wood parquet floors!
The remaining furniture looks so good with the splash of color and removal of the old wallpapers.
And the savings allowed for a sparkling new whirlpool tub and separate glass shower stall.
