This area is not Zoned for Cluster homes . . . Sunday Photos

Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Professionals, CT 203-206-0754 REB.0759001

As real estate agents we understand the necessity of respecting zoning in order to preserve the values of homes, and also to prevent homeowners from creating a burden on the resources available on a given plot of land. This is more critical where homes are serviced by wells and septic systems.

Also being a real estate agent, with a reasonably good sized property, I need to make sure that I do not get unwanted squatters trying to move in and take over a portion of my property.

Last year I noticed that a bird had created a home in one of the light posts that line my driveway. I dropped some anti deer treatment into the house and thought that I had rid my self of these squatters.

Unfortunately, as I came into my driveway today, I heard knocking very close to the house. As I looked about, I noticed what appears to be a woodpecker starting a hole in another one of my posts.

I will have to remove the squatter, especially as this neighborhood is not zoned for multi-family housing, nor for cluster housing, not to mention that no permits were pulled for this job.

HaHa. Cluster housing!

However it is frustrating that wildlife can cause expensive damage to your home and amenities! Deer can surely eat a lot of landscaping quickly!

Andrea, in this market we do need to be creative about a revenue stream, but I couldn't let this type of rental go for just bird feed.

Vickie, deer have done a job on my arbovitae very close to this light post.

Hello Ed:

I'm not an attorney, but I think this is adverse possession, by open notorious and continuous use.  Hope they don't cloud your title.

Ed, personally I think you should let him stay...the way I look at is; that's one less woodpecker trying to make himself at home at my house!  Enjoy your new friend/s.
